Al Farnam’s Beanie Delight
1 pound ground Beef
1 pound hot sausage
1 pound chorizo sausage
1 pound pepper bacon
1 large chopped onion
1 pint jalapeƱo peppers
2- 28oz bushes original Beans
I cook the bacon (crisp) first and add it to the crock or roaster with the beans. I then cook the chopped onion and peppers in the bacon grease until tender, (chop up the peppers while they are cooking) when they are cooked add them to the beans and bacon. While they are cooking I cook the chorizo sausage on the outdoor grill.
After the onions and peppers are cooked I add the ground beef and the hot sausage to the bacon grease and cook until done and then add it to the bean pot. When the chorizo is cooked cut it up in small pieces and add it to the pot. You may have to add some water to make it thinner and you can add more beans as you wish.
You can change this recipe as you wish, the more peppers the hotter it will be or you can leave out the peppers and let the hot sausage be the hot in it. This has a lot of meat and you can add more or take some out, there are no other spices that I add but you can do your own thing. Of course if you are feeding a bunch of people just double or triple the recipe and you can feed a lot of people.
I have used different spiced beans and get different flavors too. This is usually different every time you make it and that is ok because it is always loved by those that love it.
Enjoy, This is my own concoction that my family has loved for years of camping and now we take to all kinds of carry in meals.
